Last BA flight for a month to take off next Thursday
The British Airways flight to London next Thursday will be the last from Bermuda to the UK for nearly a month, an airline representative confirmed today.
The flight to Gatwick Airport takes off a day after the last BA plane arrives from London before the air link is suspended on a temporary basis.
Flights to and from the UK on BA are set to resume on December 11.
Catherine Wilson, the airline’s global public relations manager for the Americas, confirmed that the temporary suspension of the London-Bermuda route was “purely linked to the UK lockdown” that began last Thursday in response to a spike in Covid-19 cases.
The airline announced recently that it planned to switch its Bermuda services from Gatwick to Heathrow.
But the change will not come into force until March 28 next year.
