An 18-year-old man today died after his motorbike was in collision with a car.
Police said the rider suffered a serious head injury and was unconscious when emergency services arrived at the scene.
He was rushed to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, but was later pronounced dead by doctors.
The crash happened just before 9.30am on Somerset Road, Sandys, in the Morgan Hill area.
The fatality brought the total number of people who have died on the roads so far this year to six.
A police spokesman said both vehicles suffered major damage, but the woman driver of the car escaped without injury.
He added the area was cordoned off while specialist officers examined the scene, which caused major traffic delays.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
