Part of a kitchen was left fire-damaged today after a blaze in a Southampton home.
Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to the property, where a fire alarm had gone off, shortly before 1pm.
Eleven firefighters attended with three appliances.
A BFRS spokesman said: “On arrival fire crews saw a two-storey residence that had a strong smell of smoke in the area.
“After investigating the area fire crews found a lower apartment with flames seen in the kitchen of the apartment.”
He added that firefighters got into the home and “quickly extinguished the flames”.
Photographs of the scene showed smoke coming out of the property as well as damage to units and the area around a stove.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
