Insurance company BF&M has been forced to shut after a staff member tested positive for the coronavirus, it was announced today.

The office on Pitts Bay Road in Hamilton will be closed to the public from tomorrow so that it can be deep cleaned.

A BF&M spokesman said: “It was brought to our attention today that a BF&M employee has tested positive for Covid-19.

“This individual is not a customer-facing employee. As a precaution and to ensure the safety of customers and staff, BF&M is closing its Bermuda offices for enhanced cleaning from tomorrow.”

The company said it hoped to re-open the office for walk-in customers on December 21.

The spokesman said BF&M would continue to serve customers by phone on 295 5566 from 8am to 5pm, by e-mail and online at bfm.bm.
