An information session for people aged 50 and over has been postponed because of the increase in coronavirus cases and uncertainty over the bus service.

Age Concern planned to hold the event at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Monday.

Donna Outerbridge, a client services associate at the charity, said: “Due to the rise in Covid-19 cases island-wide, as well as the recent suspension of the public bus service, Age Concern has decided to postpone their upcoming Information session, scheduled for December 14, until further notice.

“We regret the necessity for this postponement, however the health of our community and of our older adults in particular is of the utmost importance.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.”

She added that anyone with questions about services available for older people can call 238-7525 or e-mail clientservices@ageconcern.bm.
