There is still a chance to move into an idyllic new community that is taking hold on a prime stretch of Riddell’s Bay, Southampton.

Seven lots of land originally were offered on what was once an eight-acre private estate.

The main home on the estate, which came with its own island and cottage, has sold. Heron’s Nest and Cottage was listed for $5,995,000.

But now just two of the seven lots, priced from $775,000 to $795,000, remain for sale, listed with Rhonda Casling of Rego Sotheby’s International Realty.

Already, those who bought the lots of land have built or begun building their dream homes on them, enjoying the large dock and moorings that come with the property.

Two of the sold lots have newly constructed homes on them. The others are being built.

Ms Casling said the prime location of the lots with boatable water access was a major selling point to those that snapped up the four lots.

The Heron’s Nest property dates back to 1803, and has been in the GM heirs family since 1936, when Elsa Mott Mitchell bought it.

The estate enjoyed over 450’ of prime boating waterfront on the protected waters of Riddells Bay complete with a large concrete deepwater dock plus a protected mooring. Its well-appointed grounds are lush with many types of trees such as Grape Bay, Pittosporum, Oleander, ageless Bermuda Cedars as well as Frangipani.

The rare waterfront estate offered seclusion and exclusivity complete with its own private island, ‘Haggis Island’. The estate enjoys over 450’ of prime boating waterfront on the protected waters of Riddell’s Bay complete with a large concrete deepwater dock plus a protected mooring.

The two-storey main house is approximately 7,500 square feet, and of original design by famous architect Wil Onions, consisting of six bedrooms with most situated to offer breathtaking views of the Great Sound and Riddells Bay, finished with luxurious Bermuda Cedar accents.
