It must be because there is so much going on in Bermuda - here is the latest:l The Bermuda Diabetes Association are hosting Childhood and Adolescent Obesity - the Underlying Risk Factors, a free presentation at BUEI tonight at 7pm. The speaker is Margaret Demment from Cornell University and the subject will be of interest to anyone working in the health care field, physicians, pharmacists, nurses, teachers, fitness professionals, social workers and parents. Light refreshments will be served.l Looking for that perfect wine to take to the beach, boat or BBQ? BSoA are hosting a Wines of the Americas Wine and Cheese Tasting at BSoA Galleries, City Hall on Friday, June 29. Doors open at 5.30pm and the tasting begins at 6pm sharp. Michael Robinson of Burrows Lightbourn will present a selection of summer wines, paired with European speciality cheeses from Supermart. Tasters will be entitled to ten percent discount on 12 bottles (can be mixed) plus a 13th bottle free.l The Centre on Philanthropy is hosting their inaugural Family Community Day at the Botanical Gardens on Saturday, June 30. From 9am until 1pm, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about local non-profit and how you can get involved further through volunteering. Participating non-profit are Bermuda National Trust, Bermuda SPCA, Gina Spence Productions in Christ, Keep Bermuda Beautiful, Masterworks Foundation, Matilda Smith Williams Seniors Residence, and The Eliza DoLittle Society.
