Taste 141 invite you to start off your weekend with live music from Outta Bounds on Friday, August 8th. The band will be performing from 7pm until 10pm and there is no cover charge. For more information, or reservations, call 292-0777.

You are invited to bring your chairs for Lillian’s 65th Birthday Celebration in Victoria Park on Saturday, August 9th. From 6pm until 9pm, this concert in the park will feature Tricray Astwood, Big Snipes, Septimus, Toni Robinson, Pat O’Connor, Larrita Adderley, Paul Smith, Calvin Busby, For God’s Purpose Dance Ministry, Vernon Temple Praise Dancers and DJ Jason Burrows. The game is afoot as North Village Community Club (NVCC) presents Quest Night, a fun-filled adult-only event at Place’s Place on Saturday, August 9th. Starting at 7pm, this is a scavenger hunt that does not require you to leave the building as you already have everything you need to participate. The Quest Master for the evening will be Nadanja Bailey and you can also enjoy free hors d’oevres, with drinks available for sale. There will be a maximum of five people per team, at a cost of $20 per person. This event is a fundraiser for the junior netball trip to Orlando, Florida in October 2014 to participate in the inaugural Disney International Youth Netball Tournament. The Jamaican Association (Bermuda) presents their Annual Independence Cruise aboard the MV Bermudian on Saturday, August 9th. The boat will have two pickup points, departing Dockyard at 8pm, and departing Albuoy’s Point at 9pm, returning to Dockyard at 1am. The ticket price includes a full meal, cash bar, and music by Magnum Force and Ranger Force with DJ Jackstain. Aspiring musicians, come and showcase your band, or just sing your heart out, at Graffiti Park’s weekly Open Mic Jam every Tuesday at Pickled Onion. This is from 9.30pm and you are invited to join the fun by bringing your own instruments/voices or by making use of the bass, drums, guitars and keys that are available. The third of Discovery Wines Summer Sunset Cruise Series aboard the Ana Luna will be their Tropical Treasures Cruise on Saturday, August 16th. The boat will leave the dock at Grotto Bay at 7pm, returning at 9pm, and promises a Tropical-themed sunset cruise featuring Latin-focused Caribbean hors d’oeuvres and a few of our South American favourite wines. There are two opportunities to see some of Bermuda’s most talented dancers in action at the DanceSations Annual Summer Dance Recital at the Earl Cameron Theatre at City Hall. There will be two shows on Saturday, August 30th, at 2pm and 7pm. Both shows will be jam-packed with exciting dances and energetic dancers, with genres of dance including hip-hop, ballet, modern, jazz, and pointe. Tickets are $25 and available from www.bdatix.bm.
