Supercharge session with ‘fresh-start’ steps
I’ve had a lot of conversations with personal trainers about pet peeves or frustrations with clients. There are times when clients rub trainers the wrong way, even though we would never allow that to negatively affect our sessions.
On the flip side, there are those things that can be detrimental to both a trainer’s and hinder a client’s success. Check out some of them below: COMPLAINING
No one likes a complainer, especially if you’re a personal trainer! Complaining doesn’t make sense to a personal trainer because you’ve paid them to push you. Why would you want to complain and delay your progress?
Complaining takes up valuable time that a trainer can use for explaining proper form or describing your workout. Why waste valuable time complaining, when you could benefit from all your trainer has to offer?
NOT FOLLOWING A TRAINING PLAN
Personal trainers create a fitness plan that they believe will help you reach your goals. It may seem random, but they have a method in their madness.
We don’t expect you to do more or less than your plan calls for. If you don’t follow your plan, you can’t expect the full results. Remember, if you believed in your trainer enough to purchase their services, then believe in them enough to follow their advice!
MAKING EXCUSES
“I don’t have time.” That’s not true. We all have 24 hours in the day. What most people mean is that it’s not a priority.
If your fitness is truly important to you, then you must put it first.
Start being honest with yourself and quit making it about time and make it happen. Get out there and get started.
ASKING FOR SIX-PACK EXERCISES
I’m sure many of your trainers have told you that “abs are truly made in the kitchen”.
Abs show up because you are lean. When you eat clean, leanness can occur and abs may begin to appear. Visible abs do not connote athleticism. Many extreme and pro athletes are at the height of fitness and don’t have visible abs. Six-pack abs do not appear because of how many sit-ups you perform, they come from eating right and having a proper training routine. Start in the kitchen and reap the results!
YOU DON’T LIKE THAT EXERCISE
Clients opinions do count, especially if an exercise makes them feel uncomfortable in any way. However when designing a programme for a client, trainers try and give the best exercises that would be suitable for that client’s body.
We are not trying to give you warm and fuzzy exercises, we are trying to get you in shape. It will be over before you know it!
