• The May edition of the monthly Ciné Club from L’Alliance Française des Bermudes will be showing Saint Jacques… La Mecque on Tuesday, May 17. Screening in the Tradewinds Auditorium at BUEI at 8pm, this French comedy/drama with English subtitles is from director Coline Serreau with Muriel Robin, Artus de Penguern and Jean-Pierre Darroussin. Three siblings who detest hiking, and each other, must complete a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela together to be eligible to inherit their mother’s wealth. All members of the public are welcome. • Solstice will be hosting Nicola Feldman, a life coach and mindfulness instructor, for the three session workshop, Mindfulness-Based Wellness Parent Programme, starting on Wednesday, May 18. Nicola specialises in mindfulness-based personal and professional development coaching and training programmes that support clients in creating transformative self-awareness, sustaining positive behaviour change, and embedding more motivating mindsets. Her passion is helping individuals to become more authentic, energised and balanced so that they live their lives with less stress and worry and greater peace of mind. This is a three-session, small-group workshop that gives parents the tools to bring the benefits of mindfulness to their parenting and their children. Groups are kept small and intimate, allowing you to explore your personal areas for growth and learning in a safe and supportive environment through personal reflection time, group discussion, one-on-one coaching, and guided mindfulness practice. • Celebrate the re-opening of Commissioner’s House and help raise funds for the National Museum at House Party on Saturday, May 28. • A conference for those leaders who are called in ministry and the marketplace, The Bermuda Summit will convene on Thursday and Friday, June 9 and 10. With the theme “Called to Lead”, there will be a half-day and full-day session of teaching those in leadership roles how to have a vision for moving forward. Mark J. Chironna, the speaker for the event, will be welcomed back to Bermuda. The summit will open at 6pm at The Fairmont Southampton on the Thursday, reconvening at 8.30am the next day, when a continental breakfast and lunch will be served.
