The Saltus Association presents An Evening of Classical Music with 23-year-old Hungarian virtuoso pianist Daniel Lebhardt on Monday, March 6th.

This event will start at 6pm in the Alumni Hall in the Secondary Dept. at Saltus Grammar School. The first prize winner of numerous international piano competitions, Mr. Lebhardt has performed as a soloist across Europe, Asia and the United States, including performances at Musée du Louvre (Paris), Wigmore Hall (London) and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, DC). In his New York debut, The New York Times described the young Hungarian as “adventurous…showing daring command…[along with]…power, poetry and formidable technique”.

Patron tickets are $50, adult tickets are $20, and student tickets are $10. There are a limited number of Patron tickets, which include front-of-house seating as well as drinks before and a reception with Mr. Lebhardt after the show. In celebration of International Women’s Day, PwC Bermuda and the Women’s Legal Network are hosting a Panel Discussion entitled, The Diversity Journey: Taking Action, Creating Impact, Achieving Results on Wednesday, March 8th.

The panel celebrating International Women’s Day has been developed in a partnership between Talia Lucas, the strategic leader of PwC Bermuda’s gender diversity initiative and the Women’s Legal Network which was co-founded by lawyers Lovette Tannock and Kimberley D. Caines.

The panel takes place on at 5.30pm at O’Hara House on Bermudiana Road. Panellists include Catherine Bromilow, representing PwC’s Governance Insights Center, joined by local thought leaders; Elizabeth Cava, The Hon. Chief Justice Dr. Ian RC Kawaley, Robin Mayor and Patrick Tannock.

PwC research found, in a survey of 1,322 CEOs from 77 countries, when asking if their organizations have reaped benefits from strategies to promote diversity and inclusion – 90% agreed it attracts talent, 85% agreed it enhances business performance, and 83% agreed it strengthened their brand and reputation. Yet this is still not reflected in global leadership.

The Bermuda Musical & Dramatic Society (BMDS) proudly presents its latest production Twelve Angry Men, opening on Thursday, March 9th.

The life of a 19-year-old accused of killing his father has been left in the hands of 12 men and women. But what begins as an open-and-shut case evolves as the jurors are forced to challenge their assumptions and each other. The show is directed by Owain Johnston-Barnes and produced by Natacha Kneeland.

Showtime is at 8pm each night and the show will run from Thursday, March 9th until Saturday, March 11th and then from Thursday, March 16th until Saturday, March 18th.

Raising funds for two local charities, the International Women’s Club of Bermuda (IWC) presents the opening night of their Annual Art Exhibition on Friday, March 10th.

Each year the members of The International Women’s Club of Bermuda create and donate one-of-a-kind works of art and photographs to be sold at their annual Art Exhibition.

All proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to local charities, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda and Coalition for the Protection of Children.

The opening Gala will take place from 5.30pm until 8pm at The Gallery in the Chubb Building on 17 Woodbourne Avenue.

The exhibit runs until March 24th and The Gallery is open from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Friday, for viewing and purchases.

You are invited to join the MSA alumni involved in the upcoming America’s Cup for an inside look at what to expect and tour of the BUEI’s Built to Win exhibit at their upcoming event, MSA Alumni Association Cocktail Reception: Cocktails & The America’s Cup on Friday, March 10th.

From 5.30pm at BUEI, the educational exhibition includes artifacts from the very first America’s Cup event in 1851 as well as exhibits displaying the cutting-edge technology used in today’s racing. Among the highlights are the virtual reality headsets that place the viewer in the seat of a soaring America’s Cup catamaran, a video game set in the heart of the Great Sound, a grinding machine that tests the user’s mental agility before and after exercise, and an array of catamaran materials used on the crafts throughout the years.

Refreshments will be served and there will be a cash bar.

The Jewish Community of Bermuda is hosting their second annual fundraising event at the JCB 2017 Purim Wine Tasting Fundraiser on Saturday, March 11th.

From 7pm at Discovery Wines, this will be a special evening of tasting yummy kosher wines from Israel, France, and New Zealand. This same evening is also the start of Purim, a Jewish holiday that encourages us to drink in celebration of a great Jewish story.

Light refreshments will be served.

Passion Bermuda present Return Fete 2017 on Saturday, March 11th.

This event will take place Jenny’s Car Park on the site of the Old Bermuda Bakery on Pitts Bay Road. Doors open at 9pm and music will be courtesy of soca artist Kerwin Du Bois, with local and International DJs on stage as well.

Offering Men’s, Ladies’, Men’s Over 45 and Ladies’ Over 40 categories to complete in, the Digicel Bermuda National Squash Championships 2017 will run from Sunday to Friday, March 12th to 17th.

The event will run from noon until 5pm on the Sunday, and then from 6pm until 10pm from Monday to Friday. The finals will be held on Friday March 17th.

The entry fee for participants is $45 for adults or $25 for juniors, and guarantees two matches and an event shirt.

Now in its 19th year of junior races, the 2017 KPMG Round the Grounds Running Race will be on Sunday, March 12th.

Held at the Botanical Gardens in Paget, this annual event is for runners aged 4 to 18 years old. The first race starts at 1pm with the 4 year old girls. Children’s activities will be provided by Masterworks; other activities and refreshments also available. Parking is available at the Tucker property and you are advised to arrive early to avoid queues.

BUEI Films presents a screening of Woolf Works on Sunday, March 12th.

The film will start in the Tradewinds Auditorium at 4pm and is the first revival of Wayne McGregor’s critically acclaimed ballet triptych to music by Max Richter, inspired by the works of Virginia Woolf and starring Alessandra Ferri and Mara Galeazzi. The running time will be 155 minutes (with two intervals).

Bring a blanket or camp chair and a camera and enjoy an evening under the stars as the Bermuda National Trust invite you to their Moongazing at Verdmont event on Sunday, March 12th.

From 6.30pm until 10pm, they promise that Verdmont’s ‘green hill’ is the place to be for this stellar evening, where you will be inspired to photograph the moon during a penumbral eclipse, join the tour of the historic house and settle in for a story under the stars.

At 7pm, you can learn some Night Sky photography tips, followed by a Tour of Verdmont House from 7.30pm until 8pm. There will then be a guest storyteller or night sky guide at 8.30pm.
