Burt reign a story of tears and pain
David Burt called an election to avoid presenting his “catfish” Budget before the House of Assembly in February.
Pardon my candour but no Minister of Finance in modern history has demonstrated as much talent using fuzzy maths to hide fiscal realities from Bermudian voters.
Mr Burt, the past seven Budget estimates under your leadership have raised the national debt without being remotely close to your estimate. So it’s interesting at your election announcement that your logic for calling an election is to receive a budget mandate.
In other words, you are expecting the Bermuda voting public to give you a Budget gold star — what hypocrisy!
Bermudian families must balance and manage our personal finances, including our chequebooks, to avoid personal calamity based on estimate income and expenditure, but with a team of subject-matter experts.
Bermuda, Mr Burt has fooled the majority with his Budget seven times; please do not re-elect this government with his rhetoric so that he may rack up No 8.
Let’s be realistic Bermuda: politics follow power and Mr Burt loves power.
The Progressive Labour Party has worn out the race card. All Black Bermudians will continue to maintain our Black card but our debit cards and credit cards are worn — maxed out paying for food, rent, gas, petrol, clothing, electricity, children’s needs, etc.
The Janet Jackson song What Have You Done For Me Lately resonates with many Black voters — since 2017!
