Boris brings intrigue and laughter
THE Incredible Boris, a renowned hypnotist whose talents have captured audiences across the United States, Canada and the Caribbean, is to perform in Bermuda next weekend.
The event, produced by Bermuda Magic and Specialised Youth, will also feature the island's top junior magician, Roger Moniz.
"It has been two years since our last hypnotic event, and the public have been asking for its return," said the show's producer, O'Brian Roberts.
Described as a mentalist/hypnotist, the Incredible Boris was born in Moscow but now lives in Toronto. His performances have been seen on the Montel Williams Show, the Howie Mandel Show, Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and The Arsenio Hall Show.
"His unique style and powerful stage presence will transform the event into an extraordinary experience," a spokesman for the event explained. "Audiences will laugh hysterically while being amazed by his fantastic demonstration of mind control.
"The show is a fast-paced adventure, brilliantly choreographed to music. Everyone gets involved. Audience members venture into a world of wonders, whose boundaries are only that of imagination. Anything that Boris suggests becomes reality. It is a superb performance filled with intrigue and laughter."
The event will serve as a fund-raiser for local charity, Specialised Youth Arts, formed in 2003 to "advance and elevate the involvement of the youth in the art of magic, juggling, clowning, balloon sculpting, hypnosis, dance, ventriloquism and a variety of arts".
q Performances will be held at the City Hall theatre on Friday, November 5, Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance, and may be purchased from the Metaphysical Book Store on Reid Street or online at www.boxoffice.bm
