Dream packages for island's United fans?

BERMUDA'S Manchester United fans may find it a lot easier to get tickets to watch their Premier League championship heroes next season.

That's because one of the biggest companies offering football packages in North America, , is thinking about setting up a seperate web site which will only be able to be used by local Red Devil supporters in order to buy tickets.

Joe Gatt, who runs , said that he realised just how popular Manchester United were after talking to Bermuda's Richard Calderon - a strong fan of United.

"From talking to Richard I managed to get a good handle on what's happening in Bermuda and just how many Manchester United supporters there were on the island. I also found out that many of those supporters love to travel to England to watch United but that it can be hard to them to get tickets.

"So I have been seriously thinking about creating a seperate package for only Bermudians to buy United tickets - creating a special web site just for Bermudians."

Gatt said that he may take out advertisements in the newspaper and if fans in Bermuda wanted to find out information on getting United tickets then they would be given a link to the special site. "I want to ensure that only Bermudians will be able to get on to this web site," said Gatt.

The United package would be a ticket to a game at Old Trafford, a programme, tickets to United's famed museum as well as two nights at the three-star Britannia Hotel in central Manchester.

"I would be looking at a price of ?230 ($382) per person. Then it would go up ?20 ($33) per ticket given where the seats are and also if the games were top games against the likes of Liverpool or Arsenal - obviously they would be tougher tickets to get," said Gatt.

And while Gatt is thinking about this special promotion for Bermuda's United fans, he also said his company does many other features for games all around Europe.

"We get tickets to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, AC Milan - you name it and we do it. In Europe we often offer packages for two matches.

"We are the biggest company which sells soccer packages in the United States."

Gatt added that the company will be updating and redesigning its web site this month in time for the new season. "Everything should be back up in August," he added.
