IT offers the chance to "win a wedding", a fashion show featuring bridal dresses from popular television sitcoms, Friends and Dharma and Greg, and the opportunity to sample the best of everything that goes into making that special day perfect.

For the island's brides and grooms-to-be, Bermuda Weddings & Special Events' bridal fair on Sunday at the Clocktower Mall, is an event that should not be missed. The day attracts many of the island's leading professional suppliers, said the event's organiser Shelly Hamill, and as such, offers an excellent opportunity to those in the process of planning a wedding.

"This is an ideal opportunity for brides and grooms to be able to see the actual designs in the flesh without having to make a trip overseas to choose their wedding gown, bridesmaids dresses or grooms outfits," she explained. "Every bride can benefit from coming out, even those who think they have everything organised. (Sunday) will provide an opportunity for them to taste, see, feel, and touch. They can see real flowers arranged in bouquets, they can taste champagne. It's an opportunity for hands-on experience and we really encourage both the bride and the groom to come out, so they can see the vendors together, and make decisions together. In fact, the whole team - bridesmaids and all - can come out to help make the decisions."

A professional bridal consultant, Mrs. Hamill was featured in Modern Bride Magazine, The New York Times, Island Weddings & Honeymoons and Total Business. She created the television show, Bermuda Weddings, co-created a magazine, Bermuda Weddings & Setting Up Home, and is working on a wedding guide due out this year.

Now in its ninth year, the Bermuda Weddings and Special Events Bridal Fair is Bermuda's longest running bridal fair.
