Lucky escape

Car flips in Somerset: Just one person was injured in a spectacular accident on Wednesday which caused one car to flip over. Police were called to the road traffic collision on Somerset Road in Sandys Parish near Broome Street at 1.40 p.m. on Wednesday. It appeared a silver Peugeot was travelling west on Somerset Road when the driver, a 70-year old Devonshire woman, lost control. The Peugeot struck a red Daihatsu travelling in the opposite direction, ricochetted into a wall and then overturned. The car was extensively damaged and the driver sustained a laceration to her right arm. Her three passengers, two women and one man, were uninjured. The driver of the Daihatsu, a 55-year old Sandys Parish man, was also uninjured, though his car was damaged in the collision.
