Station grand opening is just the ticket . . .

THE Collector's Hill Esso station will be pumping out more than gas tonight as customers get down and celebrate the station's grand opening.

"It is going to be a lot of fun and I would like to see quite a few people come out," said Craig Cannonier, dealer of the Collector's Hill Esso. The celebrations will mark the official end to the construction of the Collector's Hill Tigermarket.

There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a full evening of events. The Captain of Power 95 FM will be the master of ceremonies and there will be product samplings, face painting, gift giveaways, gombeys, majorettes, a vintage motorcycle show and a "Get Fit" gym membership draw.

"While the station has been in operation since March, this event marks the completion of construction in its entirety," Mr. Cannonier said. "It is completely different, everything is brand-new. We even had the underground storage tanks replaced.

"Construction began with knocking down the old building and removing all the old facilities.

"The station had to be closed for construction for about a year before we could open for service in March."

The gas station is now fully operational and open seven days a week from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m., with a convenience store, three fuelling islands and a total of 14 pumps.

"The Tigermarket is a state-of-the-art facility that is a blend of a supermarket and service station," said Mr. Cannonier.

"This is really a beautiful building.

"Everything works, it is clean and I think we're building a reputation for having some pretty good chicken."

Mr. Cannonier urged people to come out to the opening starting at 3 p.m. today.
