Cruise ship season winding down
The Island's shipping lanes were comparatively quiet this week as the cruise ships departed for the last calls this season and no infrequent callers visited Bermuda.
In passenger travel, the cruise ship Zenith brought 1,305 passengers to the Island on Monday, docking in Hamilton before moving to St. George's today. The Zenith sails tomorrow.
And 1,520 passengers arrived on the Norwegian Majesty yesterday in St. George's. The ship will depart on Friday.
The Horizon brought 1,339 visitors to St. George's on Monday and departs from Hamilton today.
And the Pacific Princess brought 628 passengers to St. George's yesterday, and will shift to Hamilton today, moving to Dockyard tomorrow and departing on Friday.
The Nordic Empress arrived yesterday with 1,157 passengers in Dockyard. The ship will depart on Friday as well.
In freight shipping news, Oleander arrived in Hamilton on last Sunday with 145 dry containers, 34 refrigerated (refers) containers, 1 mafi, 1 flatbed, 1 truck and 1 excavator. The ship left Bermuda yesterday.
The Bermuda Islander will arrive tomorrow with 140 containers including 25 refers and two horses. The ship will sail Friday morning.
And the Somers Isles will sail from Florida and arrive next Tuesday after a regularly scheduled lag in the ship's run to Bermuda.
