The Maritime Administration Department enjoyed particular success recently in increasing the numbers on the shipping registry.

Eight new ships totalling 660,000 gross tons were added to the registry during the third quarter of this year.

Transport Minister Ewart Brown was pleased with the recent registration of two FPSO and LNG Carriers on behalf of Bermuda based companies, World-Wide Shipping and Bergesen.

World-Wide Shipping is celebrating its 50th anniversary of the establishment of the company this year and Dr. Brown said he was looking forward to a long association with the carriers under the Bermuda flag.
