I have been coming to the Island for years and have stayed at various hotels such as the Princess? both in town and in Southampton, Sonesta and my last two visits have been at Elbow Beach. We always have a great time and my daughters as they have turned 16 have gotten their own moped and enjoyed the island immensely. Typically we are given instructions and asked to demonstrate competency by making a few quick circles in a test area and then we are off.

?Mrs. T? is a credit

Dear Sir,

I have been coming to the Island for years and have stayed at various hotels such as the Princess? both in town and in Southampton, Sonesta and my last two visits have been at Elbow Beach. We always have a great time and my daughters as they have turned 16 have gotten their own moped and enjoyed the island immensely. Typically we are given instructions and asked to demonstrate competency by making a few quick circles in a test area and then we are off.

I would like to point out an exceptionally conscientious and safety minded person at Elbow Beach; Mrs. ?T?. This year I not only took my three daughters, but I also brought along their cousin (27-years-old) who has not ridden a moped or bike in years and was nervous and unsteady. Mrs. T would not allow her to ride the moped until she personally insured that she was competent for the road.

She spent 30-45 minutes providing her with a lesson and escorted her around the property multiple times and once she was confident that my niece was not a hazard to herself or others only then would she agree to rent me a moped for her. I have never had such a caring experience. We have seen many moped accidents for various reasons by tourists but if others screened the moped renters as thoroughly as Mrs. ?T? does I am sure you would have a lot less tourists in accidents.

Grateful to strangers

Dear Sir,

I had the pleasure of visiting Bermuda last week. It was my third trip and I found the island to be just as wonderful as the last time I was there. On this trip,I unfortunately became one of those tourists that had a motor scooter accident. The back wheel went out from under me and I went crashing to the ground. Three lovely people stopped to lend aid to my sister and me.

I didn?t get their names in all of the excitement but the gentleman had a broken hand and was wearing a cast. Talk about a sign! I refused their offer to take me to the hospital and after a rest, I got back on the bike again and we returned to our hotel. In fact I continued with my visit and it wasn?t until I returned back to the US that I went to my doctor and discovered that my wrist was indeed broken. I am now sporting a beautiful purple cast!

I cannot tell you how grateful I was for the kindness of my three strangers. They helped make a frightening situation so much better. Please know that the spirit of kindness and compassion is alive and well in Bermuda. Although my cast is a more permanent reminder of my trip than I would like, I look forward to a return visit very soon.
