Dudley champions Village miss out

North Village's 1-0 defeat away to Dandy Town yesterday means that there will be new Dudley Eve Trophy champions crowned on New Year's Day.

Town, the league champions, also miss out on the holiday tournament as Devonshire Cougars scored late to earn a 2-2 draw away to Wolves at BAA Field.

Cougars and Wolves are joined in the tournament by PHC, the league leaders, and Devonshire Colts, who drew 1-1 at Somerset Cricket Club.

The draw for the double-elimination competition will be announced this week with play beginning on December 18 with a double-header at Devonshire Recreation Club.

[bul] Parris Smith, the Boulevard manager, has been suspended for three games, it was revealed last night.

Smith was the only one of seven players and officials whose innocence or guilt as a result of the BFA Disciplinary Committee's hearings last week was unknown going into the weekend.

Smith was accused of verbally abusing a match official on November 11, when Boulevard were playing St. David's. Additionally, he was put on probation until the end of the season.
