A brand new state of the art nightclub opens to the public next week. Called Deep, the subtly nautically themed facility at Elbow Beach is part of a $5 million upgrade of Cafe Lido.

Besides four private rooms, a large stage area and a state of the art DJ booth, the club is also equipped for conferences.

“It is stunning, it is beautiful and we’re thrilled,” said marketing executive for The Little Venice Group Karen Stroeder.

“It was felt there was not enough entertainment on the Island and this is our way of trying to provide additional entertainment for tourists and the general public.”

But the management is easing its way onto the local entertainment industry. Ms Stroeder explained that no bands have been booked as yet because they wanted to “assess business levels and interest” through surveys and focus groups.

But the club has hired two local deejays and will likely have a minimum age limit of 25, she said.
