VISITORS' VIEW

Bermuda another worldAugust 24, 2007Dear Sir,

Bermuda another world

August 24, 2007

Dear Sir,

The island's motto "Bermuda is another world" certainly rang true recently for my family.

On a recent trip of many to Bermuda, our five-year-old had the misfortune of falling and losing a front tooth.

Anxious and concerned, my husband and I were put in touch with Dr. John Dickinson, DDS of Point Finger Road, Paget. On a Monday afternoon close to 5 p.m., Dr. Dickinson escorted us into his office where he examined Tommy and reassured his worried parents all was fine.

He even took the time to pen a note to the tooth fairy on our son's behalf! Rest assured, this kind of treatment does not happen often in the New York Metro area!

Dr. Dickinson's warm and caring manner certainly will not be soon forgotten. We thank him for making Bermuda another, and better, world.

Awful beach restrooms

August 18, 2007

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you to relate my family's experience of our visit to one of your beaches whilst on our vacation.

The beach in question is Horseshoe Bay which in itself is a lovely idyllic beach with golden clean sands and lovely clear waters.

The point I have to make and complain about is the appalling state of the restrooms and showers. The restroom was in a very dirty condition and smelt terribly. My wife only ventured in as she was desperate and then stayed as briefly as possible.

The showers were also in a dilapidated condition and hardly worked. The floor was filthy and the whole place stunk of stagnant water.

The outside foot wash was leaking and would not turn off and also smelt badly.

Surely for one of Bermuda's finest beaches it would not be too much to ask to keep the facilities in a clean and hygienic condition. May I suggest the employment of an attendant to ensure that Horseshoe Bay remains as one of Bermuda's finest attractions.
