Bona Shipholding secures multi-million-dollar loan

The 10-year loan was described in a Press statement as a "revolving credit facility''.
It is to be used to refinance outstanding loans on the suezmax tanker Bona Liv and the large range product carrier Bona Brave . It will also be used to finance three tankers recently purchased from Amoco and to finance other new acquisitions.
Ten international shipping banks were enlisted to provide money for the Bona deal.
Last week, Bona announced a $90-million agreement with Amoco Transport Company to buy three oil tankers.

The cruise line, which sends the Song of America to the Island, has turned to Tokyo's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to help it design new cruise ships.
Miami-based RCCL said it was developing "creative new design concepts'' with Mitsubishi, but it didn't provide any details.
RCCL operates nine ships and has ordered six more from French and Scandinavian shipyards for delivery through 1998.
*** The US Coast Guard has issued new rules requiring certain US-flag ships to carry approved shipboard oil pollution emergency plans to improve their reaction to oil spills and to minimise their impact.
The regulations apply to US oil tankers of 150 gross tons or more as well as all other US-flag ships (not tankers) of 400 gross tons or more.
The plans must cover situations from suspected spills to loss of the complete cargo.
The regulations also require non US-flag ships of 400 gross tons or more to carry evidence of compliance when in navigable US waters.
The new rules follow directives issued by the International Maritime Organisation.
