A surprise on the Exchange was that the Bank of Butterfield's stock, which has more than doubled in vlaue this year, actually fell, albeit by only 25 cents, to close at $22, with a volume of 143.
Bank of Bermuda common stock rose by 75 cents to $35.75, with the day's highest volume of 2,840, while its eight percent preference shares dropped by 25 cents to $12, with a volume of 348.
There was some light trading in BF&M Ltd and Bermuda Electric Light company, although there was no movement in share prices. In total, shares worth $186,705 were traded.
