It's in the mail December 6, 2000

In today's mail delivery (December 6) I received a personalised letter from the Premier inviting me "to make sure that your Member of Parliament represents YOUR views when the Motion for constitutional changes comes up for debate.'' Even though this letter was dated November 10, 2000, it was not postmarked until 4 p.m. on (Monday) December 4, 2000. If my memory serves me correctly the debate before the House on constitutional changes was last Friday, December 1, 2000.

Let's get with it.

UNREPRESENTED IN PEMBROKE EAST CENTRAL P.s. I think the Post Office did a wonderful job in the "timely'' delivery of this letter! Flower power December 5, 2000 Dear Sir, The Bermuda War Veterans Association Committee has much pleasure to announce that the Poppy Day November 2000 street collection raised $12,510 from a generous public. A widespread written appeal has also been made and the response is proving successful.

The total income will be used towards pensions, chiefly for widows, and to assist veterans with necessary expenses such as funerals. The unstinted effort by collectors is much appreciated. The Committee's thanks are also extended to the Cathedral for the use of the hall and to British Airways for free transport of Poppies.

RON BARTON Hon. Secretary Bermuda War Veterans Association
