Massac, aged 62, lives in Paris, France, and is a naval architect and marine engineer. He is currently adviser to Gaz de France on matters relating to liquid natural gas (LNG).

He was, until 1992, deputy chairman and chief executive officer of Companie General Maritime. From 1961 to 1982, Mr. Massac was an executive with LNG and shipping company Gazocean where he became chairman and chief executive officer.
