VISITORS' VIEWS

Dear Sir, I was recently fortunate enough to spend a few days on your lovely Island after leaving (following a teaching contract) nearly 25 years ago.

I had forgotten just how beautiful Bermuda was. Everywhere looked lush, clean and pretty. I had also forgotten how friendly the Bermudians were. Whether getting on a bus, walking along the road or shopping, everyone greeted us in such a lovely manner, that I couldn't fail to "Have a nice day''. My six-year-old granddaughter loved all your new parks and delighted in the beaches whilst my wife really enjoyed strolling Front Street on your innovative Harbour Nights.

My friend Millie Foreman from Pembroke looked after us wonderfully (as did her family and friends) and now that I am close to retirement, I hope that it will not be another 25 years before I return again.

MAL EVANS Essex, England P.s. I enjoyed shopping at the MarketPlace but did miss not seeing that wonderful old name `Piggly-Wiggly''.

Delightful Darlene June 13, 1999 Dear Sir, Her name is Darlene she's the manager of the Black Horse Tavern on St. David's Island. On the Wednesday night of our honeymoon (first week in June), my wife and I ate a fine meal there and Darlene gave us a ride back to our hotel. We had a lovely conversation and she was so nice. Her hospitality certainly made our vacation in Bermuda that much richer.
