The ship, which arrives at Dockyard tomorrow, is affiliated with Burnley, England, a former constituency of the Governor's. It will take him out to sea where he will be picked up by a helicopter and brought back to the Island.

The vessel is heading for the West Indies where she will relieve the guardship HMS Cumberland .

The HMS Active is a first class frigate which was one of the first vessels to be commercially designed for the Royal Navy.

She carries several weapons including four Exocet surface to surface missiles, a 4.5 inch fully automatic gun, Seacat anti-aircraft missiles and a Shipborne Torpedo Weapon System.

Also featured on the frigate are four close range weapons, a Selenia fire control radar with computer assisted information systems, and a Lynx helicopter with anti-submarine torpedoes, depth charges and air to surface missiles.

Escorting HMS Active will be the tanker RFA Oak Leaf .

In other shipping activity, Meyer Agencies reported Monday's arrival of the Bermuda Islander which was ahead of schedule. She carried 65 containers, three of which were refrigerated, and a horse.

She sailed Tuesday morning.

Somers Isles arrived on Sunday carrying 66 containers, ten of which were refrigerated. She docked in Hamilton and sailed later the same day.

The Dreamward also arrived on Monday carrying 1152 passengers which is a decrease in number due to the winding down of the cruise ship season.

She docked at Penno's Wharf in St. George's and will sail tomorrow.

The Horizon carrying 1327 passengers arrived on Monday and will sail this afternoon.

She shifted to St. George's yesterday morning and will sail this afternoon.

Meridian arrived yesterday and berthed at King's Wharf in Dockyard. A passenger count was not available John S. Darrell reported the arrival of the Song of America on Tuesday carrying 1379 passengers. She sails tomorrow afternoon.

Shell's liquid propane tanker Cervantes arrived yesterday morning docking at Esso Pier in St. George's.

Container Ship Management reported the arrival of the Oleander on Monday carrying 126 containers, 94 dry and 31 refrigerated.

She also carried four new government refuse trucks, a European car, some steel and a boat.
