A Smith’s parish man appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning charged in connection with Saturday’s shootings on Court Street.
The courtroom was cleared before the charges were put to 25-year-old Cervio Cox for the offences.
He was charged with conspiring with persons unknown to commit murder to teenager J’Dun Thompson. He was also charged with possession of a firearm to commit murder of Mr. Thompson.
Cox, the father of a 15-month-old child, remained cuffed throughout the hearing as ten police officers uniformed and plain clothed were present in the courtroom with the accused.
Cox, of Clarendon Road, was remanded in custody until June 11. He is being represented by Llewellyn Penniston.
