Fuel tanker could be delayed

Tanker British Courtesy is scheduled to bring fuel in for BELCO this morning, but weather conditions may delay its arrival.

Meyer Freight spokesman Joe Simas explained that the tanker, from Salem, New Jersey, will have to be anchored until weather conditions improved on the Island.

When the vessel does arrive it will be docked in Hamilton, Mr. Simas said.

Meyer Freight is also the agent for the Bermuda Islander, which arrived on the Island on Monday at 8 a.m. from Freeport Bahamas and will leave this morning at 8.

The vessel, which was docked in Hamilton, will leave behind 113 containers including 29 reefers and a boat.

Perseus Leader, from St. Croix, arrived at the Esso Oil Dock in St. Georges last Friday at 1 p.m.

The vessel left the same day at 3.30 p.m after dropping off 76 cars.
