Local ship movements
With the American July 4 holiday weekend come and gone, the number of tourists arriving on cruise ships fell slightly this week.
The Grandeur of the Seas arrived in port on Monday from Baltimore, carrying 2,247 passengers to the Island. The ship departed Kings Wharf yesterday at 6 p.m.
The Norwegian Majesty also arrived Monday, berthing at Ordinance Island. The ship carrying 1,640 passengers will stay in Bermuda until Thursday morning, when it returns to Baltimore.
The Norwegian Dream arrived from New York yesterday at 11.30 a.m., and departs on Friday at noon. The ship is carrying 1,946 passengers, and is berthed at Pennos Wharf during its stay.
The Norwegian Dawn is scheduled to arrive at 8.30 this morning with 2,671 passengers. It will also be leaving on Friday.
The Caribbean Princess will be spending most of Saturday on the Island, arriving at 8 a.m. and departing at 4 p.m. the same day. She will be carrying 3,440 passengers, and will be docked at Kings Wharf for the duration of its stay.
The Bermuda Islander continues its weekly trip to the Island with a scheduled arrival on Thursday morning. The ship will be discharging 139 containers in Bermuda, including 22 reefers, three flatracks, and two tanks.
The Oleander arrived on Sunday, carrying 109 containers for the Island, including 45 that were refrigerated. Five road trailers and two bundle chassis were also off-loaded before the vessel departed yesterday.
The Odergras also stopped by the Island this week, delivering liquid propane gas to the Esso oil pier yesterday, before departing at 6 p.m.
