DUBAI (Bloomberg) — National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia said its unit National Chemical Carriers has cancelled a deal with SLS Shipbuilding Co. to build five tankers, according to a statement to the Saudi bourse.

National Chemical Carriers will get back $95 million after the cancellation, which was due to a delay by the Korean shipbuilder, National Shipping said in the statement.

Daewoo Shipbuilding stake sale may begin this year, Edaily says

SEOUL (Bloomberg) — Creditors of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. may publish a notice this year to start a sale of their holdings in the company, Edaily reported, citing Min Euoo Sung, chief executive officer of main creditor Korea Development Bank. Creditors aim to complete the sale in the first half of 2011, Min was quoted as saying.

Nokia to ship over 50 million new symbian phones, Savander says

LONDON (Bloomberg) — Nokia Oyj, the world's biggest maker of mobile phones, will ship more than 50 million smartphones with the new Symbian platform, Niklas Savander, the company's executive vice president for marketing, said at the Nokia World summit in London.

"I think it's a conservative estimate," Savander added.

STX Offshore wins $270 billion tanker contract

SINGAPORE (Bloomberg) — STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co. said it received an order worth 313.9 billion won ($270 million) to build six tankers. The vessels will be delivered by June 30, 2013 to a client in Europe, the Jinhae, South Korea-based company said in a regulatory filing without identifying the buyer.
