Pair get trial date on dishonesty charge

Two men were charged in Magistrates’ Court with dishonestly receiving money from a customer service agent at Butterfield Bank.Jahroy Simons, 26, of Southampton and Phillip Johnson, 29 of Pembroke, both denied one count of obtaining $8,000 on April 19.Mr Simons denied a separate charge of dishonestly receiving $8,000 from the bank by deception and false representation on April 10.He is represented by lawyer Charles Richardson; attorney Ricky Woolridge appeared for Mr Johnson.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released both men on $10,000 bail with one surety each and set their trial for August 23.The men were ordered to report to Hamilton Police Station every Monday between 8am and 8pm.
