Aon Group acquires Footman James

The world?s second-biggest insurance broker Aon has announced that it had completed the acquisition of Footman James, a broker that specialises in providing cover for vintage vehicles.

Aon, which last week announced its new Aon Global Ltd. unit would be located in Bermuda, employs around 150 people on the Island.

Since it was founded in 1983, Footman James has built up a strong relationship with vintage car enthusiasts policies cover over 160,000 vehicles and attracts premium income of over $80 million.

Footman James, acquired by Aon from Alchemy Partners (Guernsey) Ltd., will continue to trade under its own name, the PRNewsWire reported.

The terms of the transaction are not disclosed.

Aon provides tailor made cover for specialist personal risks including prestige sports and classic cars, holiday homes, yachts, travel, art, antiques, estates, high value goods and other niche lines.

The acquisition of Footman James will add complementary skills and resources to Aon?s existing personal lines and affinity business.
