Allied World Assurance Company (US) Incorporated, a subsidiary of Allied World Assurance Holdings Limited have announced the grand opening of an office in San Francisco, California.

The office was first established in October, 2005, to satisfy a growing demand for regional presence within the United States.

Allied World currently maintains its headquarters in Bermuda, and offices in Boston, Chicago, New York, Dublin and London.

President and chief executive officer Scott Carmilani said: ?We?ve increased our presence within the United States to meet a growing demand within those specific regions.

?Our new office in San Francisco is positioned to service middle-market organisations in the west, as well as augment further product diversification and industry penetration.?

Allied World US Senior Vice President John McElroy, who oversees business development within the United States, added: ?We are excited about expanding within the United States, and specifically the grand opening of our San Francisco office.

?Our San Francisco team will help to better service an existing client base and also assist us in acting upon future market opportunities.?

Allied World US Vice President John Verhoorn manages the San Francisco branch located at One Sansome Street, which offers a range of direct insurance products tailored for middle-market companies.
