Bank of Butterfield stock pushed up the Bermuda Stock Exchange index yesterday on a quiet day of trading.

The bank's stock rose 25 cents to close at $34, trading just 426 shares. The only other trade was 100 Belco stock, which finished unchanged at $32.75.

The index closed up 5.51 points or 0.23 percent at 2,431.22 on a volume of just 526 shares worth $17,746.
