Bank, QuoVadis link up
Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Ltd. yesterday announced it had switched providers of digital certification and is now using Bermuda-based QuoVadis.
The bank said it will use the company, which was the first authorised provider of digital certificates on the Island, to continue to protect the security and privacy of users of Butterfield Direct Internet Banking.
?Bank of Butterfield has switched its digital certification to QuoVadis to take advantage of Bermuda?s advanced infrastructure and regulatory environment as well as the benefits of local customer service. This certification is just one aspect of the bank?s ongoing commitment to assuring the security and privacy of customer data and transactions,? said Wendell Emery, executive vice president, operations and information technology at the bank.
And the bank warned that the first time customers visit the Butterfield Direct site this week, they may need to install the QuoVadis Root Certificate.
?The installation is a quick, automated process using on-screen instructions. Customers who have questions should contact the Butterfield Direct Helpdesk at 299-3895,? said a release from the bank.
