BAS is flying high on BSX
The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 15.446 points last week to close on Friday at 3,304.53.
Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. shares soared 30 percent or $3 to close at a 52-week high of $13 after investors traded 1,400 shares. The company, which has been diversifying out of the airport service sector in recent years, recently released strong full year results last month.
Butterfield Bank saw the most action during the week with 21,236 shares trading. It closed unchanged at $41.50. BF&M gained ten cents to close at $13.10 after investors traded 3,900 shares.
KeyTech Ltd. ? the parent company of Mobility, Logic and BTC and co-owner of CableVision and QuoVadis ? gained 40 cents and closed at $10.70 after investors traded 14,200 shares.
Investors traded 100 shares of Masters at an unchanged price of $12.
The Bermuda Insurance index, which tracks publicly listed shares of international insurers with a Bermuda physical presence, closed down 6.32 points at 1127.14 points. Insurance shares were hit after XL Capital added to reserves and slashed its profit forecast for the second quarter.
