Belco tumbles 7%

Belco shares tumbled seven percent on an otherwise relatively quiet day on the Royal Gazette/ Bermuda Stock Exchange which saw trading of 2,947 shares with a market value of $55,834.

At the end of the day the BSX was down 0.64 percent (32.18 points) at 4,960.56.

Belco was the only mover as its shares fell in value $1.75 after 440 were traded. The company?s shares are now valued at $23.25, down from $25.00.

A total of 2,300 shares in insurance group Argus were traded but did not affect the price which closed unchanged at $14.50. There was also no change in the value of Butterfield Bank with shares in the bank at $57.00 although 207 were traded during Wednesday.

The BSX announced that one of its members had voluntarily resigned from the Exchange. Global Execution Technologies Limited applied to resign and withdraw its trading membership, a request that was subsequently granted and came into effect as of yesterday.
