Bermuda news - around the clock
Is around the clock information on Bermuda what you are after? That may now be available with the launch of a new web site - mBermuda - that bills itself as Bermuda's 24/7 digital information portal.
On the site are a line up of news headlines including such stories as `Regiment stands down' and `Unemployment? That's Government's responsibility'.
Bringing information to the masses is a line-up of contributors including such Bermuda household names as UBP candidate in last month's election Hilary Soares, restaurant critic Edward Bottone and sports broadcaster Nick Jones.
Other contributors are travel writer Cheryl Hayward-Chew and religion writer Derek Weller. And at the helm of the new initiative is Teresa Cameron, the founder of former Bermuda dot.com talkingmice. Ms Cameron is also understood to be behind another local company, Creative Concepts.
The mBermuda site claims the company is "fast becoming the Island's leading business and consumer information portal." In addition, the site said an interactive TV service would be launched through Bermuda CableVision later in the year. ISI Publications, a former eVenture Centre company, is listed as the editor for mBermuda through its Hong Kong office. ISI is also behind another news website OffshoreOn.com that often carries news of Bermuda as an offshore business jurisdiction. OffshoreOn's editor is Ahmed ElAmin, a former business reporter of The Royal Gazette.
