BII seminar

The Bermuda Insurance Institute is today hosting a seminar on corporate governance legislation put in place last year.

Although the law ? which is named Sarbanes-Oxley after the representatives that introduced it, Michael Oxley and Paul Sarbanes? was enacted by US legislators? it bears on numerous Bermuda-based companies as it applies to any corporation publicly listed on an American stock exchange. The session, entitled ?Key Requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act?, is a repeat of a May session held by the BII.

The presenters are all from Ernst & Young with David Alexander (senior manager, corporate finance), Wayne Mello (senior manager, financial services) and Shiew Liau (manager financial services) speaking. The seminar, from 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m., will go through several key areas.
