BSX down for week

Bank of Bermuda overall lost 75 cents last week and helped push the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange index down by more than 0.6 percent during a busy period of trading in which more than $4 million worth of shares changed hands.

The large volume for this time of year was due to a stock option by Bank of Bermuda at the beginning of the week. Bank of Bermuda closed down overall 0.0016 percent, the exchange said, or 75 cents at $47 after the stock option.

Bank of Butterfield overall gained 25 cents to close at $30.50. LOM holdings gained 30 cents to finish at $3.80. Belco Holdings gained 25 cents to close at $27.25.

The index closed down 0.62 percent or 16.448 points at 2,669.26 on a volume of 92,057 shares worth $4,103,172.25. No bonds traded.
