BSX drops 82 points

The Bermuda Stock Exchange index dropped 82.5 points yesterday after Bank of Bermuda shares continued to drop to $40 - its lowest since December 2000.

Bank of Bermuda stock fell again $2.00 or $4.8 percent to $40, and Bank of Butterfield lost 25 cents to close at $31.50.

Argus Insurance lost $3.00 to finish at $23.00. No other stocks traded.

The index closed at 2,357.48, down 3.38 percent on a volume of 3,200 shares worth $98,475.

The BSX also reported it was incorrect in its Wednesday report. Instead of dropping over 5 points, the BSX actually gained 10 or 0.42 percent after Bank of Butterfield lost 25 cents and Argus Insurance gained $2.37 to close at $26.00.
