The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 21.56 points or 0.79 percent yesterday to close at 2,749.64. A total of 5,900 shares worth $173,545 were traded.

While no shares of the Bank of Bermuda were traded, the Bank of Butterfield gained 75 cents or 2.3 percent to close at $32.75 on volume of 5,000 shares.

The only other issue to change for the day was Belco Holdings Ltd. which gained $1 or 3.3 percent to close at $31 on light volume of 140 shares.
