The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index yesterday gained 20.19 points to close at 3,228.24.The Index gained largely on the high volume of trading in Butterfield Bank shares with investors buying and selling 10,200 of that stock.The bank's shares were also pushed up 45 cents to $40.95 on the first day of trading this year.

The Index gained largely on the high volume of trading in Butterfield Bank shares with investors buying and selling 10,200 of that stock.

The bank's shares were also pushed up 45 cents to $40.95 on the first day of trading this year.

The only other BSX-listed company to see share movement yesterday was KeyTech Ltd. - the parent company of BTC, Mobility and Logic Communications - with trading of 1,000 shares at a price of $10.75.
