BSX to host Series 7 exam
The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) has confirmed that it will be hosting a Series 7 examination in Bermuda on the 15th November 2002. BSX president & CEO, Greg Wojciechowski said: "The Bermuda Stock Exchange is once again extending an invitation to the general public to register for the Series 7 exam in Bermuda."
The Series 7 exam is run by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and is viewed as a benchmark qualification for any one interested in pursuing a career in the investment industry.
The BSX became actively involved in Series 7 in 1998 when, after a year of negotiations, the NASD granted the Exchange permission to act as exam sponsors in Bermuda and permitted it to `hold' the Series 7 licences, a privileged usually reserved for NASD Member firms only. Since that time the BSX has offered the exam on a regular basis in Bermuda. Mr. Wojciechowski also said: "The BSX sees this as yet another way the BSX supports the local investment community and helps encourage, maintain and improve industry standards. In this regard it is a perfect role for the BSX!"
