BSX up in light trading

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 5.35 points on Thursday to close at 3,833.64.
On a relatively quiet pre-holiday day of trading, Butterfield Bank gained 10 cents to close $45.60 on volume of 301 shares and Belco Holdings edged up five cents to close at $40.40 as investors traded in 2000 shares.
The only other activity was Bermuda Commercial Bank, which reported that its profit for the year jumped on Wednesday, trading in 1,500 shares to close at $9.
The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX on Thursday was $108,325.60 and the overall volume of shares was 3,801.
