Company Moves: Whitton leaves Marsh
Barry Whitton has left Marsh after nine years to join Beecher Carlson as senior vice-president in the company's newly formed global property practice.
Mr. Whitton, an 18 year veteran of the insurance industry, is to be based in the company's Atlanta office. Beecher Carlson also has an office in Bermuda.
Mr. Whitton graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. He also holds the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations.
Sophos brings home gold
Logic Communications has announced that its partner Sophos Anti-Virus brought home the "Gold" in Information Security's 2004 "Products of the Year" awards.
"Anti-virus technology continues to be one of the most critical security needs for an organisation," said Chris Maiato, director of Integration Services at Logic.
"Given the speed at which new threats develop, organisations need to ensure that their systems are being constantly updated and revised with the most current techniques."
The award recognises Sophos in the area of technical expertise, responsiveness and customer service. It also cites the company's unique InterCheck technology and Remote Update features as highly rated by business users.
Over 35 million users worldwide are already using Sophos products, which provide comprehensive protection against viruses, spam and malicious spyware.
