Dowd to head Ace operations in North America

Brian Dowd, chairman and CEO of Ace USA and Chairman of Ace Westchester Specialty, has been appointed to CEO of the company?s Insurance-North American operating division.

John Lupica, president and chief operating officer of Ace USA, has been promoted to the position of CEO, Ace USA.

The Insurance-North American division comprises the operations of Ace USA, the company?s retail brokerage business serving the United States and Canada, Ace Westchester Specialty, ACE?s excess and surplus lines business in the US.

The company operates primarily through wholesale distributors and Ace Bermuda, the original insurance company of the Ace Group of Companies, established in 1985, that writes high limit excess liability and directors and officers insurance worldwide.

The division generated $5.5 billion in net premiums written in 2005.

Rick Manuel has been promoted to Butterfield Bank vice president, corporate banking.

He will have responsibility for business development and relationship management with the Bank?s key international corporate and insurance sector clients.

Mr. Manuel has been with Butterfield Bank for 15 years and has about 25 years? experience in the banking industry in total.

After joining Butterfield Bank in 1991, Mr. Manuel was senior corporate dealer in the treasury department and then moved to corporate banking as an assistant vice president.

Prior to his promotion, Mr. Manuel was a member of a specialised relationship management and sales team.

Mr. Manuel has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, and has achieved the ACI Diploma and Associate in Risk Management qualifications.

Sydonnie White-Bademosi has been promoted to Butterfield Bank vice president, branch manager, Rosebank Branch, with responsibility for the efficient delivery of banking services to customers in the branch.

Managing 29 employees, Mrs. White-Bademosi directs all branch operations, with a focus on quality customer service.

She joined the Bank in 2000 as an assistant vice president, product manager, and then moved to retail operations, a position which supported branch management.

More recently, Mrs. White-Bademosi has acted as the St. George?s branch manager and prior to her promotion she was acting manager for the Rosebank Branch.

Before joining the Bank, Mrs. White-Bademosi worked for BF&M and Aon Insurance. She has a BTEC National Diploma in Business & Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Business Studies.
